Weighing Our Options

Matt and I have been looking at our options for traveling to Ethiopia. We have decided on two options (and possibly a third):
  • British* Airways from JFK to London, overnight in London and then on to Addis Ababa. Matt is English, so this is an easy option. The only problem with BA is that their flights into Addis Ababa arrive around 2 a.m.

  • Emirates*from JFK to Dubai, overnight in Dubai and then on to Addis Ababa. We like the fact that it breaks the long flight up and we have always wanted to visit Dubai.

We haven't really looked at the KLM* flights through Amsterdam, but I think that option is a distant third. All options are great airlines, it will probably come down to scheduling and pricing (which means Emirates* will win out).

Double check visa implications on return through dubai. Also if you go KLM through frandfurt there is the yotel for long layovers!! A bonus! I was planning that route but looks like I'll be going DC to Addis. sigh.

Decisions - Decisions. I just spend 10+ hours looking at tickets and comparing prices. Now we're with Lufthansa. We will have an inland flight of 45 minutes, 2 hours layover, and then 6 1/2 hours to Addis (have I mentioned that there is only one hour of time differential, yippie??). We almost booked with the Emirates (awesome price), BUT the flight would have ended up being 20+ hours (with a night layover each way).
I'm sure you will find "YOUR" tickets soon :-)
Any news on court dates??

No news on court dates. A family, with another agency who received their referral one week before us said they were told to expect a mid-December court date. I guess that would be on par with what we were told to expect, just not what I wanted to hear though.

We are either flying Emirates from Seattle to Dubai, stay the night then on the Addis or going to Cairo first to visit a friend for a couple days then into Addis Ababa...too many choices...of course none matters until the court dates come...hoping we will hear something this week!
