One week until our court date. I am beginning to get nervous--wondering if all our paperwork is together and nothing is missing. Hoping it all works out in our favor on November 30th.
Can you believe in a little more than 24 hours the fate of our cases will be heard. I am nervous!! I will be stuck to the house on monday like glue waiting for the phone to ring...praying for ALL of us to pass now!!
1/9/2010: Home with Oliver!
12/11/09: Flights booked. We leave 12-31-09 and return 1-9-2010.
12/9/09: Travel dates received! We're to be in Ethiopia by January 3rd!
12/4/09: Find out we passed court---we just don't know the date (yet).
12/1/09: Receive 2nd update and 2 more photos of Oliver (but no word on outcome of court date).
11/30/09: Court Date!
11/10/09: Receive update and two photos on Oliver.
10/31/09: Receive notice of our court date--
November 30, 2009.
10/9/09: REFERRAL!
5/26/09: Referral & Travel Training with Agency via conference call
4/28/09: Our dossier arrives in Addis Ababa!!
4/24/09: Dossier is sent to Ethiopia!
4/8/09: Dossier arrives at our agency; sent for authentication in D.C.
4/7/09: Send completed dossier to our agency.
4/1/09: Received our I-171h approval!
3/21/09: Fingerprinted at USCIS--waiting for I-600 approval.
2/18/09: Mailed home study to USCIS--waiting for fingerprint notice!
2/17/09: Received final home study.
2/4/09: Received draft homestudy for review.
1/21/09: Mailed off final documents and references to homestudy agency; awaiting draft copy of homestudy.
1/14/09: Mailed in I-600a (w/o homestudy)
10/7/08: Send back contract to agency (forgot to initial on a page).
9/29/08: Mail notarized and signed agency contract and concurrent adoption agreements between Ethiopian and China adoption agencies.
9/23/08: Third homestudy visit.
9/16/08: Second homestudy interview.
9/9/08: Phone interview with agency; officially accepted into Ethiopia program.
9/5/08: First homestudy visit.
8/27/08: Get fingerprinted for homestudy agency.
8/7/08: Application received; send out reference requests for approval into Ethiopia adoption program.
8/5/08: Mail application to Dove Adoptions International.
8/4/08: Decide to proceed with concurrent adoption from Ethiopia; find local homestudy agency to complete Ethiopia homestudy & update China homestudy; speak to our China adoption agency about concurrent adoption
I am Shannon, mother to Chloe and Oliver & someday, Emma Claire. We adopted Chloe in 2005 from China, are currently LID in October 2006 for China (Emma Claire) and brought Oliver home from Ethiopia in January 2010.

Me too! I just hope we don't get bumped because we are towards the end of the alphabet with a "T" last name...I just have to hope for the best!
Congratulations! Can't wait until next Monday to hear about your court date.
Sorry if I freaked everyone out about the alphabet thing...Hopefully it was just a fluke with us, and won't be a problem for you. :)
